CIDOB International Yearbook 2026

CIDOB publishes the 35th edition of the CIDOB International Yearbook, which once again offers an annual and rigorous study of the main trends and challenges shaping the global agenda. In this new edition, the CIDOB International Yearbook addresses three major challenges on the international agenda: the new international economic order, the geopolitics of climate change, and the future of war.

The comparison of the cases of Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Turkey, and Tunisia helps discern how different political, socio-economic, and cultural contexts can lead to different forms of politicisation.

La nueva política de Donald Trump hacia Venezuela muestra que las consideraciones normativas o ideacionales como la promoción de la democracia o de los derechos humanos son secundarias. La prioridad es la seguridad nacional supuestamente amenazada por grupos criminales y los migrantes ilegales. Es un discurso coherente con su visión MAGA de América primero, pero de clara hostilidad hacia los vecinos de su frontera sur.

Peace through strength? What Trump’s plan means for Palestine and global politics

Presented as a roadmap to peace, Trump’s plan for Gaza appears little more than power politics dressed up as diplomacy. While this might explain the rallying support from the international community, the risk is confusing short-term negotiations on a ceasefire with the broader need for sustainable post-war scenarios.
