Matthew McLaughlan Merelo

Matthew McLaughlan Merelo is a Junior Visiting Fellow in the Talent Global Programme at CIDOB. His current research focuses on European Union climate policy. He was an editor at Agenda Pública, where he was responsible for restructuring editorial processes. Previously, he was a researcher at the Esade Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics (EsadeGeo), where he assisted Javier Solana in drafting speeches and papers. He also worked on research projects focused on energy transition and industrial decarbonisation in Europe. He graduated in 2023 with a master's degree in international relations from IBEI (Barcelona) and in 2021 with a degree in International business management and languages from Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh).
