Revista CIDOB d'Afers Internacionals, n.º 108
The convergence of an EU in crisis and a changing world order (power transition) is the subject of analysis in this edition of the Revista CIDOB d’Afers Internacionals. The EU’s crisis is not only economic: its magnetism, laden with regulations, institutions and multilateralism, has stopped working; and in terms of material power and ideas, the world is a more hostile place for the EU than it was a few years ago.
In this adverse international context, how does the European Union act in order to preserve its capacity to influence multilateral institutions and the mechanisms of global governance? Is it changing its behaviour? And, if so, how? Is it moving towards accommodation or entrenchment?
Based on a common analytical framework, the articles that make up this monograph attempt to answer these questions by studying the response of the EU in multilateral institutions in various fields (economic, environmental, energy and security)
