Study trip of European Think Tanks in Kyiv

CIDOB, together with its Ukrainian partner the Institute of World Policy (IWP) from Kyiv, has organized mid-May 2014 a study trip of 17 among the most prestigious European think tanks

CIDOB, together with its Ukrainian partner the Institute of World Policy (IWP) from Kyiv, has organized mid-May 2014 a study trip of 17 among the most prestigious European think tanks. 

The participant think tanks were: Centre for EU-Russia Studies (CEURUS), University of Tartu; Center for Strategic and Foreign Policy Studies (CSFPS), Minsk; Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), Brussels; Centre for Liberal Strategies (CLS), Sofia; European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR)- Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, Rome, Sofia, Warsaw; European Stability Initiative (ESI), Vienna; EU Institute for Security Studies (EUISS), Paris; Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA), Budapest; Institut français des relations internationales (Ifri), Paris; Institute for Development and Social Initiatives (IDIS Viitorul), Chisinau; Istituto per gli Studi di Politica Internazionale, (ISPI), Milano; Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’, The Hague; Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM), Warsaw; Romanian Center for European Policies (CRPE), Bucharest; Royal Institute of International Affairs Chatham House, London; Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

They conducted meetings with several stake-holders: opinion leaders from Odessa, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk; think-tanks, NGO and journalists; business representatives; Ukrainian civic Jewish leaders; high officials from the new Government.

The aim of this study visit was to help the European experts to make a direct assessment of the current situation and enable them to present and make available reliable and accurate information in their countries.
