Spain-Italy Dialogue Forum Prize

On Saturday 11 October, in Pisa, Giuliano Amato, ex-President of the Italian Council, awarded the first Spain-Italy Dialogue Forum Prize to Elena Griglio y Fabio García Lupato.
The prize was awarded to those whom the bi-national jury considered had produced the best social science studies of those that were submitted to the competition. The studies, which were produced by academics and researchers from both countries, focused either on comparison of the two states or analysed the bilateral relationship. Elena Griglio, from the Libera Universitá degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli of Rome, won the legal and economic section of the competition with her work ‘Unity and decentralisation in the protection of the rights to health. The Italian and Spanish experience contrasted’.
Fabio García Lupato, from the Complutense University of Madrid and the Universitá degli Studi di Siena, was awarded the prize in the section of political science and sociology with his study ‘Importance and uses of Europe: direct and indirect effects of the European Union for domestic polity competition in Italy and Spain’. The winners received a cash prize of €3,000, and the studies will be published by AREL and by the CIDOB Foundation, the two institutions that organise the Dialogue Forum and the Compet
