The Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB) and the Agenzia di Ricerche e Legislazione fondata da Nino Andreatta (AREL) are co-organizing the Dialogue Forum Spain–Italy. The XIV edition of the Forum will take place in Barcelona on April 8th and 9th. Since 1999, the Forum has been taking place every year, its location alternating yearly between Spain and Italy. It brings together high-level representatives from political, academic, business, economic, and media sectors. This initiative is part of a bilateral agreement between Spain and Italy and is strongly supported by both governments. This year, as in past years, government-level representatives will be in attendance.
The meeting in Barcelona will take place at a particularly intense time for the European Union. The discussion follows the European Commission’s recent announcement of the Juncker Plan, an EU investment plan set to be put in action during the next few years. Along this vein, the Forum will focus on analysing, debating, and seeking joint solutions for Spain and Italy regarding both countries’ economic recovery and participation in the TTIP agreement. Spanish–Italian cooperation is now more crucial than ever in providing a European response to ending both countries’ recessions.
Attendance by invitation-only
