The financial crisis in 2008 hit the European Union with a magnitude that threatened its very existence. The EU has been struggling with its aftermath ever since and reforms have been painfully slow. Ten years later, how prepared is Europe if another financial crisis hits the global economy?
In this new edition of CIDOB In conversation with, a platform aimed at assessing the impact and consequences of international events, Bassem Snaije, adjunct professor at Sciences Po Paris and managing partner at Cosmos Advisors, will examine the effects of the crisis and the actions taken to treat the sources of the identified risks. He will also look at the EU’s areas of strength and weaknesses and will consider the central issue of demographics and the social and financial consequences, focusing on the main areas of risks that are more EU-specific in comparison to other important economic powers.
