Experiència professional

She holds a PhD in Law from the European University Institute, Florence, Italy. Dr. Nimark also received a master’s degree in International Public Law and International Organizations from the University Paris I-Panthéon-Sorbonne and a Master of Journalism from the Institute of Political Science and Journalism, University of Poznan, Poland. She previously worked at the EU Institute for Security Studies in Paris where she directed a research project on EU civilian crisis management. Dr. Nimark was previously also affiliated with the European Law Centre at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. Her main areas of expertise are the evolution of the United Nations’ collective security and peacekeeping system in the post-Cold War period, the role of regional actors in conflict prevention, crisis management and post-conflict situations, and the institutional developments and legal framework of the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy. Dr. Nimark joined the Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB)’s team of experts on international security in 2009, first as Associate Researcher based in Barcelona (2009-2014), then as Associate Senior Researcher based in the USA.

Agnieszka Nimark is currently a visiting scholar at the Reppy Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. Her research focuses on nuclear disarmament movements and includes academic, archival and documentary projects.
