Is it possible to see Europe as an open society, as a complex system characterized by a multiplicity of multiple connections in motion ?
During the EU-presidency trio in 2010-2011 of Spain, Belgium and Hungary, a common project has been developed to explore, in a multidisciplinary and open reflection, the emergence of Europe in a context of globalization, deterritorialization and complex cultural dynamics.
In three symposiums interpretations and models were discussed, and proposals on the subject of ‘Europe as a reality/ Europe as a project’ developed. Multiple times and spaces : complexity, mobility, territory – Barcelona (Cidob) 2010; Urbanity and diversity as a condition – Ghent (Universiteit Gent) 2010; Cities, Urbanity, culture – Kőszeg (Institute for Social and European Studies) 2011.
Europe of Cultures Forum organises the public event to present the conclusions and open perspectives for next European presidencies on November 29 in the European Parliament Brussels
