SAHWA Public Event in Cairo

This meting will present findings of an EU-funded three-year research project, by 14 partners from Arab world, Turkey and Europe on the obstacles facing youth in the region and how these challenges should be combated through international policies

Objetivo

The event consisted in two panels with four and five presentations respectively, followed by a discussion with the audience.

The first panel, entitled "Youth views, conditions and prospects in Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia", was devoted to present the five National Case Studies in order to offer the audience a qualitative and quantitative overview of each country of study.

The second panel, "Youth through regional lenses: Opportunities, Engagement, Values, Cultures, Gender Issues and Migration", dealt with the most important research themes through comparative lenses, thus underlining commonalities and differences from country to country and across countries.
