Objetivo

CIDOB will host a public conference of MEDRESET. This EU funded research project aims at developing alternative visions for a new Mediterranean partnership, six years after the Arab Spring. The project will design an inclusive, flexible, and responsive future role for the EU in the region. In this conference, participants will discuss how different global and regional players approach the Mediterranean. For some the Mediterranean is a geopolitcial entity, for other a mere transit zone. Which implications does it have? To whose vision is Europe closer to? Speakers will also discuss which kind of role could and should the EU play in this region and how this should translate into specific policies and instruments.
