CIDOB Reinforces its Commitment to Applied Research with Three New Projects

CIDOB - Nov 30, 2015

Three of the projects that CIDOB presented in the last call of the research program of the European Union Horizon 2020 have been selected under a competitive process.

Starting next year, CIDOB will lead a consortium of 14 institutions to carry out a project focused on the new geopolitical order in the Middle East (MENARA Project). CIDOB will also participate as a partner in two projects of the same size that aim to rethink the Euro-Mediterranean relations (Med-Reset) and the future of the relations between Turkey and the European Union (FEUTURE). The three projects will be implemented from next year and will last for three years.

In the area of migration, a consortium of which CIDOB is also a member, has been chosen to conduct a six-year project on refugee integration policies throughout Europe (NIEM).

All of which confirm the commitment made by CIDOB to applied research and will position it as the center of reference in social sciences in Catalonia and in southern Europe. These projects will allow CIDOB to strengthen ties with major centers of excellence in Europe and its Mediterranean neighbors. Among others, CIDOB will work with the European University Institute in Florence, the King's College, the London School of Economics, American University of Beirut and the Mediterranean Energy Observatory.
