Security measures adopted by CIDOB against coronavirus

Given the alert situation caused by coronavirus SARS-CoV2, and following the new security measures decreed by public authorities, CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs) closes its doors and suspends all public events until April 13. CIDOB rises one place in the world’s top think tank ranking and consolidates its leading position among the centres in southern Europe

CIDOB leads the think tanks of southern Europe, being ranked 36th of 176 in the Top Think Tanks in the World category of the 2019 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report. CIDOB also consolidates 4th position in the Think Tank to Watch category, which recognises innovation and research excellence, while holding onto 8th place in the Best Independent Think Tanks list.

A World of Two or Three? The US, China and the EU in a New Global Order” was the subject of the eighteenth edition of the War and Peace in the 21st Century seminar, held on January 18th, 2020. Organised in collaboration with EsadeGeo - Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics and supported by Barcelona City Council and “La Caixa” Foundation, the seminar provided expert insight into the current and future state of the international relations system and the future of the liberal international order.

The Think Tank to Watch category of the Global Go To Think Tank Index, which recognises research excellence and rewards the most innovative advances, has awarded CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs) 4th place out of 114 centres worldwide. CIDOB's independence of thought remains one of its most commended values, helping it consolidate 8th place in the Best Independent Think Tank category out of a total of 145.
