A European Joint Call on the US to Reconsider its Approach to the JCPOA
The Think Tank to Watch category of the Global Go To Think Tank Index, which recognises research excellence and rewards the most innovative advances, has awarded CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs) 4th place out of 114 centres worldwide. CIDOB's independence of thought remains one of its most commended values, helping it consolidate 8th place in the Best Independent Think Tank category out of a total of 145.
CIDOB presents its list of the 40 key figures on the international political and social agenda in 2018. 40 figures from around the globe who help us understand the international politics and society of the past year. Among them are individuals, movements and organisations, such as: Jair Bolsonaro, the Migrant Caravan, the gilets jaunes, Jamal Khashoggi, #MeToo, Matteo Salvini and Xi Jinping.
Pol Morillas has been appointed Director of CIDOB at an extraordinary meeting of the institution's Board, which took place at its headquarters this morning. With over 10 years of experience in the international relations field, CIDOB's current Deputy Director will move into the management of the centre.

Academics, journalists, jurists and political and NGO leaders gathered on June 1st at the European Parliament offices in Madrid to debate the international patterns and causes of violence against women and the responses to a problem which, according to WHO data, affects one in three women worldwide.
CIDOB reaches the 36th position in the main category of the Global Go To Think Tank Index, which evaluates the best think tanks in the world every year. CIDOB’s independence of thought has been one of the most valued standards of the institution. CIDOB consolidates the eighth position in the category of best independent think tanks out of a total of 145 centers.
