The University of Cologne (Germany) dedicated the 2009 LATIF International Congress to studying the alternatives between reform and revolution in Cuba, at a time that coincides with the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Cuban revolution, and with the political succession between Fidel and Raúl Castro.


The University of Cologne (Germany) dedicated the 2009 LATIF International Congress to studying the alternatives between reform and revolution in Cuba, at a time that coincides with the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Cuban revolution, and with the political succession between Fidel and Raúl Castro.

The event featured the participation of some 30 specialists from Cuba, Brazil, the United States, Great Britain, Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Spain and Germany. Francesc Bayo took part in a seminar in which he presented an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of relations between Spain and Cuba, in the context of the international transformations of the past two decades.
