Professional experience

Viviane Ogou is a Junior Visiting Fellow at CIDOB in the framework of the Talent Global program. She holds a degree in International Relations (URJC) and a Master's degree in International Security (IBEI). Specializing in the Sahel crisis and EU-Africa relations, she has a special interest in military operations and peace-building processes. She is currently studying the rise of anti-French sentiment in the Sahel and the implications for the European Union. 

She is founder and president of the youth organization Gateway to Africa. Since 2020, Viviane has been involved in the global municipalist movement, first as a youth delegate for Spain at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. She is currently a member of the UCLG Youth Caucus, representing the Barcelona Youth Council. Viviane also collaborates on youth and migration issues with different international organizations and foundations (IOM, UNAOC, European Parliament, Ashoka Foundation,...).
