Asia Programme
The Asia Programme assumes that the continent of Asia is a key to the analysis of what is and could be the 21st century. In accordance with this, it encourages the creation of thought through teaching, actively sponsoring multi-disciplinary research, organising seminars and debate workshops, and periodically bringing together prominent representatives of the economic, academic and political worlds who are interested in strengthening relations with Asia.
Due to its great influence on the configuration of the international system, special attention must be given to the dynamics of regional co-operation currently in progress and the evolution of the emerging Asian powers, fundamentally China and India, without forgetting the importance of Central Asia for achieving a stable, prosperous Eurasian whole. On the other hand, with the aim of arriving at closer relations with Asia, particular attention is paid to the Asian communities established in Western Europe and the opportunities, with respect to Asia, that can stem from the privileged relationships Spain enjoys with Latin America.
