European Breakfast
On this occasion, and within the customary European breakfast format, the special guest speaker will be Jón Baldvin Hannibalsson.
Jón Baldvin Hannibalsson was Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (1988-95) and negotiated for Iceland in the European Economic Area (1989-1993). Subsequently, he was the Icelandic ambassador in the United States and Mexico (1998-2002) and in Finland and the Baltic States (2002-2005), and he also held the posts of Minister of Finance (1987-1988) and Chairman of the Icelandic Social Democratic Party (1984-1996). Mr Baldvin Hannibalsson is associate lecturer at the University of Iceland and Bifröst. He published his political memoirs in 2002.
