A compilation of articles that sprang out of the Intercultural Dynamics Programme doctorate students' forum workshops that were held during the academic year 2005/2006. The four chapters that comprise the book deal with intercultural dynamics in different spheres - cultural production, the process of configuring a political subject, the management of identity and, finally, the institutional dimension. What these approaches to intercultural phenomena have in common is that they present cultural aspects not as elements that are fixed and stagnant, but - and very much to the contrary - as things that are undergoing a constant revision or confirmation of their very limits and boundaries. Thus, the political and the institutional are conceived not only in terms of the production and administration of discourses and hegemonic practices, but also (and simultaneously) as mechanisms for emancipating and transforming that same hegemony. Taking this approach, each author attempts to examine ─ using perspectives that range from the descriptive to the legislative ─ actors and spaces that are experiencing these dynamics of cultural interaction which facilitate dialogue or conflict: TV programming, cinematographic or musical production, citizenship, Barcelona's civic law, organ donation and institutional representation are just some of the examples that appear in the document.
