The second edition of the report on the monitoring of Spain’s official development aid in the areas of population and reproductive health shows a slow but gradual improvement in the profile of this aid through the study and analysis of questions like the evolution of Spanish cooperation in the reproductive health sector. It looks at geographic and sectorial distribution, the priority which these issues have in the guidelines of Spanish cooperation, the contributions the Spanish government makes to international organisms, the aid it gives directly to developing countries, the aid it gives to NGO projects, and an account of the channeling of aid from the Autonomous Communities and the different municipalities of Spain.

Since its creation in 1996, the GIE has desired to contribute, through quantitative and qualitative analyses, to increasing Spanish aid in the areas of population and reproductive health, to ensure Spain’s compliance with the agreements adopted in the International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo (1994).
