La inmigración en España en 2006. Anuario de inmigración y políticas de inmigración en España (edición 2007)

The 2007 edition of the Immigration in Spain Yearbook 2006, which has been edited by Eliseo Aja and Joaquín Arango and contains contributions by some 20 recognised experts in the field, offers a multidisciplinary, up-to-date portrait of immigration in Spain. The work presents a complete view of the phenomenon of immigration in Spain through a group of studies executed using legal and sociological perspectives.

This first edition of the Yearbook continues the line of study commenced in 2005 with the publication of Veinte años de inmigración en España (20 years of immigration in Spain), and represents an attempt to consolidate this project as a basic tool for understanding the phenomenon of immigration and its management in Spain. In this volume, an analysis is made of the main legal and legislative instruments that regulate immigration in Spain, and particular attention is paid to the effects of the 2005 regularisation process, as well as to the various integration plans implemented by the different administrations. The demographic characteristics of immigration, its impact on the job market, the phenomenon of irregular flows in the Canary Islands and an analysis of public opinion on immigration are just some of the issues covered in this examination of immigration in Spain.
