The Security Programme aims to influence the study of human security and its practical applications, and to do so, it relies on close collaboration with the Centre for the Study of Global Governance at the London School of Economics (LSE), co-led by Mary Kaldor. One of the objectives of the programme is to stimulate the study of the topics of security and defence and to bring scholars together in working groups. The Programme specialises in the areas of Latin America and the Mediterranean, as well as in the monitoring of the European Security and Defence Policy and its transatlantic implications. For this, it works with the Europe, Latin America and Mediterranean Programmes.
One of the priorities of the CIDOB Foundation, within the framework of its Security Programme, is to foster research and disseminate knowledge about the issues relating to human security.
The research that we have begun this year will be carried out within the framework of the EuroMeSCo network in collaboration with the CIDOB Foundation and the Turkish Social, Economic and Political Research Foundation.
This is the basic point of departure for the Programme, which allows us to link the security and defence policy of Spain with that of the EU and to see how it is projected internationally, especially with regard to the United States.
