Work team

The research Programmes at the CIDOB Foundation are working groups made up of scholars, politicians, professionals and business people who identify the important topics and political agendas in their spheres. On the basis of this, reports, articles and presentations by experts on the subject are commissioned. The working groups tend to meet two times per year.

Person(s) in charge of Latin America team

  • Anna AYUSO POZO - Programme Coordinator
    Doctor of International Public Law and Master's in European Studies (legal area), from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Professor at the UAB, teaching postgraduate courses on subjects dealing with: relations between the EU and Latin America, Latin American Integration and International Cooperation for Development. Other ongoing research areas include: the regional instruments of social cohesion, dealing with asymmetries with respect to regional integration and in North-South relations, physical integration and the international mechanisms for the prevention and solution of conflicts.

  • Juan Carlos TRIVIÑO - Asistente del Programa
    After graduating in International Affairs from Florida State University (Panama Canal), Juan Carlos completed an Erasmus Mundus postgraduate programme, gaining a Master’s in Development from the Institute of Social Studies (The Hague, Holland) and a Master’s in International Relations from IBEI (Barcelona, Spain). He also completed a course in European studies at Linköping University (Sweden). With his experience in public management as a political analyst in the National Assembly of Panama, he has carried out field work on development-linked issues in Venezuela and Peru. His areas of interest are: cooperation with development for Latin America, models of participative democracy, and the rise of the so-called ‘nueva izquierda’ [New Left] in the region.
  • Francesc Bayo - Programme Researcher
    Graduate and Master's in Contemporary History from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), he also obtained a Diploma in Development Studies from the Economic Commission for Latin America (ECLAC). His main area of research interest is relations between Spain and Latin America, with particular emphasis on relations with Cuba.
