How are representations formed? How are they confirmed, re-produced or discarded? What role does difference play as the bearer of symbolic and historical meaning? Do transcultural representations exist? Is there any international coincidence in how diversity and difference are dealt with? After five seminars connected with the subject (two held in Barcelona and three jointly organised with Rabat, Istanbul and Ghent), we are proposing to draft a report with the main points on the role, importance and responsibility of representations in different spheres. The report will be published on the website, and this will be used to detect the issues to be tackled, and which have a direct influence on intercultural dynamics. We also aim to present the content of the work done at these seminars, participating actively in the current debate through participation in existing programmes or others.
