[16.10.08] In light of the international economic and finance crisis, the Council expressed its determination to act in a concerted, global manner to protect the European finance system and its depositors. Among the issues covered were the situation in Georgia, the agreement with Russia on said situation and the EU's relations with its eastern neighbours.
[01.07.08] The French government's programme for the six-monthly presidency of the EU, the main priorities of which are to maintain the ratification schedule in order to bring the Lisbon Treaty into force, to strengthen the joint management policies of the energy and environment binomial and to make progress in the unification of Europe's migration policies.
