Casa Árabe and the CIDOB Foundation sign collaboration agreement

On 9 April, Gema Martín Muñoz, Director General of Casa Árabe, and Narcís Serra, President of the CIDOB Foundation, signed a framework collaboration agreement between the two institutions aimed at promoting activities, research and training linked with the Mediterranean and the Arab and Muslim world.

Casa Árabe, which was founded in July 2006, is a consortium made up of different public administrations, and has its headquarters in Madrid and Córdoba. The institution was devised as an instrument for strengthening and consolidating relations with Arab and Muslim countries, and which will, in the future, become a point of reference for study and knowledge of the reality and history of these countries.

This agreement reflects the spirit of cooperation and joint effort that has grown between the two institutions since the creation of Casa Árabe, given the understanding that they needed to join forces to promote more and better information as to the reality of the Arab world in Spain. On signing the agreement, Gema Martín Muñoz and Narcís Serra congratulated each other on this climate of understanding, and declared that they would begin planning joint activities of high visibility and impact. The two signatories agreed that, "now that we have this agreement, we must develop it and provide it with content, so as to begin harvesting its fruits as soon as possible”.
