Regionalismo Global

From the early 1990’s, accompanying the acceleration of the globalisation process in international economic relations, there has been a spectacular resurgence of regionalism throughout the world. This regional dynamic has been turning into one of the most important components in the range of policies available to countries to face the challenges and opportunities of the globalisation process. This book presents, in an accessible yet rigorous way, a up-to-date, interdisciplinary view of the processes of integration in Latin America, emphasising the global character that these processes have taken on, with integration strategies that surpass the strictly geographic bounds of this region and link it with North America, Europe and Asia. The contributions in this volume allow readers to examine “global regionalism” in the Latin American case from different perspectives, inviting them to seriously reflect on the process of economic integration.
