A study on the impact of liberalisation processes on the configuration and consequences of the crises of the emerging economies of Latin America and East Asia in the latter half of the 1990s and beginning of the twenty-first century. Attending to the particularities and differences of each of them, the purpose of this article is to analyse the recent evolution of the financial vulnerability of the crises of Mexico (1994), East Asia (1997), Brazil (1999) and Argentina (2001).
