[01.07.08] The French government's programme for the six-monthly presidency of the EU, the main priorities of which are to maintain the ratification schedule in order to bring the Lisbon Treaty into force, to strengthen the joint management policies of the energy and environment binomial and to make progress in the unification of Europe's migration policies.
[20.06.08] Apart from the problems that have arisen in some Member States over the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty, and how to deal with said problems, other important issues that were tackled in the Council included proposals for managing migrations, while the problems caused by the rise in the price of food and oil were also analysed.
