3 and 4 October

For the fourth consecutive year, the CIDOB Foundation, working in collaboration with the Ibero-American Secretariat General and ECLAC, has organised a seminar on the Ibero-American Development Agenda (ADI). This year, the ADI Seminar will be held in Barcelona on 3-4 October, a few days before the 28th Ibero-American Summit Meeting of Heads of State and Government opens in El Salvador.

Since its earliest days, this project has been linked with Ibero-American Summits, thanks to the collaboration of the Ibero-American Secretariat General, which is responsible for presenting the seminar's conclusions to the Summit.

The fourth Ibero-American Development Agenda Seminar will be focusing its attention on the middle classes in Latin America. The programme for the event, after presenting, as every year, a general view of the economic situation in Latin America, will go on to analyse different important aspects concerning the middle classes in the region: their definition, socio-economic profile and measurement, vulnerability, the values and ideologies of the middle classes, their political and economic behaviour as well as their future in the framework of the process of Latin America's social and economic development. A special mention will be made of the role of young people in the future of the middle classes, given that this is the central theme of the Ibero-American Summit to be held at San Salvador.
