3. Communication and cultural policies

It can legitimately be considered that cultural practices reveal types of relations transmitted by members of a group. The material supports for these practices (the body; the image, photographic, drawn, or virtual; the word or writing...) participate in the construction of mediations developed within specific frameworks and contexts (living or work places; the framework of the school or the neighbourhood, etc.). The meaning of interpersonal relations and of the social links constructed in these practices can be learnt through a culture’s characteristics. How can we set up and, particularly, how can we understand the phenomena of meaning; that is, of sensitive relating? Phenomena that we might call mediation phenomena, phenomena developed in intercultural experiences.
