Documentation Centre
It selects, acquires, analyses, processes and elaborates specialised information and documentation. Every year, it analyses some 400 titles of periodical publications throughout the world, according to its own 1500-term list of descriptors.
It maintains and updates this list, which includes geographic terms and international organisations. It contributes to the elaboration of the documentary appendices (maps, statistics, graphs...) of some of the CIDOB Foundation publications.

The documentation centre manages bibliographic references (49,000) from the whole documentation collection catalogued since 1984 (available in the library). You can search the CIDOB library for the documents of interest to you:
It manages specific databases
- Of periodical publications (more than 1000) belonging to the CIDOB Foundation’s documentation collection.
- Of acronyms and abbreviations (more than 4000 entries) used, mainly, for the elaboration of documentation appendices.
- Within the framework of the European Information Network on International Relations and Area Studies (EINRAS), the CIDOB Foundation has published a database of articles in on-line periodical publications. This database, together with those of the other members of the network, are available on SIPRI.
It provides researchers with the necessary support for their studies, both in obtaining and in managing information.
