Presentation of publication
Presentation of the 2008 CIDOB International Yearbook, a publication which has been carrying out a summary of Spanish foreign policy, the European context and the regional situation ever since it was first published in 1989. This year, the monographic section Country profile focuses on the Republic of Nigeria and its regional setting. With its 140 million inhabitants, Nigeria is the most highly-populated country in Africa, and the second most important economic power in Africa; it is also the country with the seventh largest gas reserves in the world, and the 10th with respect to oil reserves. The country’s economic and demographic potential mean that it has become a key country in West Africa, an area of growing interest for Spain's foreign policy.
