1st Encounter with Maghrebi Human Rights Defenders in Barcelona

Elcàlam (Committee for the Defence of Human Rights in the Maghreb) with financing from the Catalan Agency for Co-operation for Development and collaboration from the CIDOB Foundation and the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed.)

On the 31st of May and the 1st of June, several meetings will be held between, activists and representatives of Maghrebi human rights associations in Barcelona and the media, political parties and public administrations. The objectives of these encounters are to make Catalan political and social agents and public opinion in general familiar with the situation of human rights in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, and to create a network of support for the human rights associations in this region.

With these same objectives, on the 31st of May a public press conference will be held at the Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya (Official Association of Journalists of Catalonia) (Rambla de Catalunya, 10) at 7.00 p.m. For further information, contact Laura Feliu ( laura.feliu@uab.cat )
