Presentation of the essay, De la conquista a la globalización: estados, naciones y nacionalismos en América Latina [From Conquest to Globalisation: States, Nations and Nationalisms in Latin America], by Luís Esteban G. Manrique, international economics and political analyst for the journals, Política Exterior and Dinero. This book presents an interpretation of the ideological evolution of the concepts of nation and nationalism in Latin America, from their pre-Hispanic roots to the modern day and of their profound influence on the political, economic and social processes of these countries. Along with the authors, comments will be made by: Francesc Granell, Professor of International Economic Organisation at the University of Barcelona (UB) and Francesc Bayo, CIDOB Foundation.
