Aquesta publicació presenta una anàlisi de la situació dels estudis sobre la Mediterrània i el món àrab al Regne Unit i Espanya, juntament amb una sèrie de propostes per reforçar la investigació en aquest camp. Inclou els dos informes encarregats per a la Trobada Hispano-britànica d’experts, en la qual es van tractar qüestions com l’agenda d’investigació en aquesta àrea, la interacció amb els mitjans de comunicació i les instàncies polítiques o les perspectives específiques de les noves generacions d’investigadors, àmpliament representades a la Trobada.
